The new lunar series are on sell now! The new design looks a lot better than the first series.

I don't know that they look so much better - a bit different, yes, but better - I don't know........... What I DO know is that the Perth Mint screwed around and screwed over so many with the first series - that the will proably sell alot less of the second series.......... For myself - I'll probably pick up one of the silver of each and one of the golden Dragon coins - my own sign.........but not the multiple sets I picked up series 1. |
Re: Australian Gold Lunar Series II
They look nice, but I like the rat/mouse from the first series better. Still, it looks like the quality will be high.
I'll buy the pieces I like, but I haven't decided if I'll put together any gold sets this time. I'll probably put together one 1-oz. silver set. I'm not planning to put together multiple sets, like I did with series one. It sounds like they've planned too many releases in a year, which takes the fun out of collecting, and there's no assurance that the mint won't do something weird again. I did think it was funny that Apmex's intro says "secure for the next 12 years." |
Re: Australian Gold Lunar Series II
The new series will be "larger than usual" but I can't find anywhere what size. Anyone know? Maybe like Philharmonic size?

Re: Australian Gold Lunar Series II
The APMEX site claims 38.8mm diameter and 3mm thickness. Thats bigger than the Philharmonic and the 50 Peso.
I like the look but not how it says Year of the Mouse on it. I'll be getting at least one. The question is do I buy now or hope for a nice pullback? |

Re: Australian Gold Lunar Series II
I bought a few of the ten kilos. Now where to hide them?

If you can't look to your government as an example, just what is it possible to have faith in? |
Re: Australian Gold Lunar Series II
Does anyone know when we'll get to see the first series II silver design?

Series II in Silver:
http://www.apmex.com/Category/213/20..._Series_2.aspx The Series I Mouse was nicer, IMO. They now offer a TEN KILO Ag coin. Must be huge! :applause_ |
